Systems Admin w/ WebSphere & LINUX
Location: St.Louis,MO
Duration: 12 Months+
Rate: DOE

- Ability to learn Mule configuration (enterprise service bus / container that runs on top of Apache Tomcat – moving away from WebSphere to Mule for shared services) Mule is not required
- Ability to define or improve a code deployment process
- Ability to write Implementation Plans and Playbooks for Production Code deployments

- Role is more about "configuration management" than traditional system admin; but needs core system admin skills
    o Ability to work in Linux
    o Ability to troubleshoot issues (read Java code – find and understand root cause of issues)
    o Assist with monitoring approaches to help     proactively identify issues / performance concerns

- Work with both core development teams, system admin teams, and application engineering (they set standards for platforms and code practices) à needs very strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 8 to 12 Months

Job Description:

SAS Administrator will provide support for a SAS Unix server application environment. The candidate will be an experienced SAS administrator with skills for a SAS 9.2.x environment. This person will also participate in the production software deployments, upgrades, capacity planning, backup strategies, as well as software/hardware integration planning. The person will coordinate troubleshooting and make recommendations for the configuration of the SAS application.

Responsibilities:

•Research best practices and provide pre- and post-implementation documentation.

•Perform daily tasks within the scope of SAS/Unix system administration, including but not limited to, file system performance monitoring, reviewing OS patch levels when required. Maintain awareness of new SAS releases, patches and upgrades. Install as appropriate.

•Work closely with SAS user areas to assure that their needs are being met and train business users in established standards and procedures for SAS server environment.

•Installation, administration, and support of the software in conjunction with SAS on UNIX.

•Monitor storage growth and work with user areas to develop purge criteria. Coordinate with other IT groups on performance, storage issues, etc. Coordinate with SAS ''power users'' to schedule production loads/jobs.

•Create and maintain user profiles and groups consistent with security restrictions and performance considerations. Coordinate with IT Security as required.

•Document operational processes and recovery procedures.

•Maintain environment configuration information.

•Participate on project teams.

•Work independently to resolve issues and escalate to management and other teams as needed.

•Administer user access and security on the system.

•Installation of SAS software on client desktops if applicable. Work with Desktop support team to assure correct users' desktop/application configuration.

•Performance tuning of both Server and Workstations.

•Implementation of upgrades and patches to both Server and Workstations.

•Perform code reviews to ensure proper design, standard, content and functionality.

•Monitoring of servers, databases and workstations to ensure availability and efficiency.

•Database capacity and utilization planning.

•Archiving and back-up planning.

•Documentation of SAS server applications, workstation application and security policies in force.

•Disaster recovery planning.

•Available to provide 24 X7 support as required.

Job Requirements

•4 year degree (In Information Technology related field preferred) or equivalent work experience.

•2-4 years System administration experience.

•Min. 5 years database experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve problems.

•Broad knowledge of database administration concepts, practices and procedure on AIX/Unix platform.

•SAS Base Version 9.2.x, Enterprise Guide

•Additional knowledge of Oracle/Teradata database will be an added advantage.

•Previous experience in 24hrs/day, 7days/week system support capacity.
