PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Responsible for developing ETL mappings, data transformations and movement of data between source and target systems within the corporate operational data store and enterprise data warehouse on the InfoSphere / DataStage platform. Must adhere to ETL standards and technical and business level road mapping and the BI Strategic plan. Will be a key source of expertise in analyzing and understanding data from various sources in order to validate data quality and help to ensure that business reporting needs are fulfilled through a formal, manageable process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*1. Provide ETL Tool specific knowledge (DataStage) to the organization

Provide expertise in formal processes, methodologies, and artifacts for executing ETL functions in a controlled and repeatable manner with minimum duplication of effort

Provide accurate assessments of time required to produce transformations in chosen ETL toolset

Provide mentoring to other ETL developers new to the tool and its functions

Provide expertise in semantic transformations and understanding of complex data structures

Work closely with the Business Intelligence Tool Specialist (Cognos) and Enterprise Data Architect and database administrators to ensure optimum performance of the ETL data processes.

*2. Design and develop in the Infosphere / DataStage toolset

Analyze and understand source and target data's meaning

Produce ETL mappings in DataStage that "transform" (i.e. translate) data from one system's semantic structure to another

Work closely with the enterprise data architect to validate accuracy of transformations and works closely with data stewards to validate data dictionaries and other metadata content

Utilize best practice standards in ETL mapping development efforts and documentation of ETL requirements

Work with business users, report writers and enterprise data architect to refine/adapt/maintain ETL mappings as business user needs change or the data environment changes

Work closely with data stewards to validate data dictionaries and other metadata for reporting data sources to ensure semantic meanings are carried forward form OLTP source data systems to target operational data stores and the enterprise data warehouse

3. Ability to clearly understand and communicate the nature of any gaps in the semantics of any source data intended to create target data

4. Ability to clearly understand business needs to create ETL logic encoding business rules in transformation processes

5. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Our client is a leading provider of financial technology and integrated services for the administration of consumer healthcare accounts. They simplify the administration of consumer-driven healthcare for HR outsourcers, benefits administrators, financial institutions and health plans to achieve better management of HSA, HRA, FSA and other accounts. The incumbent will play a vital role in supporting customers in the area of benefits administration, health plans and financial institutions.

Functional/Business Experience: The ideal candidate will have solid, quantifiable claims processing, payroll, ACH, employee benefits, and disbursement experience.

Technical Requirements:

• Must have hands-on SQL experience to be able to gather and verify data in Oracle DB
• Solid experience in an Oracle environment (to include 10g and 11g)
• Experience working with various data formats, data analysis and understanding of relational database tables is a must
• Experience working closely with development/technical teams is required
• Must have experience working in software/business applications that run via web/Internet
• Experience interacting with web applications that are developed in Java platform is a plus

• Possess effective customer presentation skills
• Follow up with dissatisfied customers to ensure their issues are satisfactorily addressed

Also Required:

• 7+ years of Oracle (10g and 11g)
• 7+ years of SQL
• 7+ years of Java (desired)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience functioning in a lead or managerial capacity
