This group supports the Asset and Wealth Management group and is looking to expand the team in the NY/NJ area. Our client is looking to hire a production Oracle DBA who will focus on production support and in-depth tuning of the Oracle and Unix environment.  Provide on call support on weekends as per rotation schedule. Requirements ·         

The ideal candidate will have at least 6-8 years of experience as a production support Oracle DBA with at least 2 of these years in a Senior capacity.·         

Strong skills with in-depth performance tuning at the command-line level, both SQL prompts and Unix (files/awk).  ·         Ability to trace Oracle and Unix sessions.·         Troubleshooting.·         Proactive database capacity management.·         Disaster Recovery process and best practices with Oracle Dataguard.- PLUS·         Database Backup/Recovery (Ideally RMAN)-PLUS·         Tuning/Configuration and Partition Management.·         

Shell Scripting.·         

Experience working in an Investment Bank, Large Broker/Dealer or Hedge Fund (or similar) is ideal.  Candidates from Insurance, Telecom, Pharmaceutical, Data Storage or other large, mission critical, production, environments will be considered.·

Solid communication skills, both written and verbal are vital.·

This person should come from a solution minded perspective, someone who can create and think out-of-the-box.
