This project is a new WebSphere Portal V7 implementation for a multiple virtual site development effort. This project includes a robust portal development to realize a new site design and layout, a custom built product catalog solution, custom search and integrations with existing 3rd party functionality. Currently existing client sites will be translated into the new integrated portal design and unified into a single corporate presence while maintaining individual brand identities.

  

Job Description:

This resource will be allocated to the Portal V7 project work to increase the capacity of the WebSphere prof-services team in order to handle the demands of this project. They will serve as an intermediate to senior level WebSphere Portal "Application Developer" that will be possess the ability to:

·        Translate business requirements and high level design into in-depth design documents, and develop WebSphere Portal portlets from those documents.

·        Use Rational Application Developer for portal to program JSR 286 compliant portlets that will retrieve data from back-end resources

·        Architect/design solution for

·        Content structure

·        WCM architecture

·        Portal Architecture

·        Site Layout

·        Navigation

·        Integrated Site Search (WCM and other sources such as Database)

·        Content Indexing

·        Propose ideal deployment methods for this specific customer

The skill requirements are:

·         ** Architecture/Development experience on WebSphere Portal 7 **

·        strong WSP 6 experience, our PRIMARY GOAL is to obtain experience with WSP 7 with this resource

·        Architecture / Development experience with Lotus/WebSphere Web Content Management Server

·        Solid implementation skills on WCM

·        Solid implementation skills on WCM search

·        Solid experience on Content Indexing

·        Experience on developing multiple WebSphere Portal 7 projects

·        Architecture experience with many other portal projects on WebSphere Portal 6.x

·        Experience deploying at least a couple of Portal 7 projects

·        Many years of architecture experience in J2EE/web systems

·        Excellent Java development skills

·        Excellent web Development Skills

·        Good mentor
