We are looking for a Unix/Linux Technical Specialist for a 6 month contract in Greensboro NC.
Key responsibilities
• Responsible for validating, verifying, preparing and deploying Products in the runtime environment and ensuring compliance with agreed delivery times, costs and performance targets
• Responsible for the operation quality and security on given infrastructure and/or applications in accordance with agreed Service Level Specifications (SLS) or/and specific regulations (SOX)
• Responsible for that the quality, efficiency and security of the operation and technical support meet all its agreed SLA requirements and targets
• Responsible for installation of Products in runtime environment
• Responsible for carrying out operational measurements
• Take an active part in contributing with knowledge within projects, reviews etc.
• Take an active part in contributing to problem localization and resolution regarding infrastructure and/or applications
• Ensure that all operation changes are performed by following the Change Management Process
• Authorized to suggest alternative solutions and point out deficiencies related to quality and security requirements
• Authorized to make commitments that fall within the scope described in the "Individual Job Description" agreed with the Line Manager and/or any other contract /directive effective in the specific infrastructure area Additional responsibilities:
• Evaluate the operational aspects of all proposals that affect the runtime environment
• Propose changes that make the Product more efficient and/or reduce the operations or maintenance costs
• Responsible for identifying and analyzing problems in production
• Responsible for Business Continuity planning and performance
• Interact with the Service Runtime Manager with focus on optimizing the service
• Supervise technicians within the area of responsibility Education and / or Experience requirements
• Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or other training and experience required for the specific position.
• 5 years relevant UNIX experience in systems management from large datacenters. Process and Technical skills required
• Certified in operating system AIX, SOLARIS and Red Hat.
• Practical experience from virtualization on UNIX.
• System administration
• Storage management in UNIX environment. (Deep knowledge in SAN, Data backup also in Veritas filesystem and lvm for Linux)
