Java Developer

Location: St Louis MO Need locals only

Rate: $50/hr

Duration:6 months

 

 

Brief Description

We have a challenging opportunity for an experienced, senior level software developer in St. Louis, Mo.  You will be developing quality Java software for a large internet website/product, working with complex requirements in a fast-paced agile environment.  Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Interfaces with internal customers to elaborate on requirements and provide recommendations on complex technical tasks.
• Independently performs analysis to develop and implement high level designs for assigned projects.
• Diagnoses complex system problems and system performance problems using available standard performance tools and system indicators such as queue lengths.
• Recommends and performs changes in system parameters or code to obtain optimum system performance.
• Participates in design, code and test reviews.
• Implements application software that is delivered on time.
• Analyzes and troubleshoots software problems.
• Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
• May participate in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations.
• Makes recommendations on the impact and implementation of new technologies/development methodologies.
• Works closely with Business Analysis and Project Management functions to ensure correct technical design.
• Modifies and/or writes technical and operator documentation.
• Provide guidance/training to more junior staff.

 

Skills and Requirements

Must Have

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good with collaboration with other teams.
• Minimum 4 years experience creating web applications using Java/J2EE, JSP, Servlets, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience using and creating RESTful and SOAP-based web services.
• Must have a very good understanding of Object-Oriented Design.
• Working knowledge of Ajax (preferably using jQuery and JSON), SQL, XML, MVC, Spring, dependency injection, Hibernate, jUnit, and IBM RAD/Eclipse.

Nice to Have

• Server side JavaScript
• Agile development process experience.
