Position : SAP BASIS ARCHITECT

Location : Pittsburg, PA

Duration : 6+ Months

 

Job Description:

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide SAP technical design and performance for multiple SAP global instances. Develop best practices, project plans, and documentation for the installation, upgrade, monitoring and administration of development and production SAP R/3, SAP ECC6, and SAP BW application software environments

Take accountability to continuously improve, develop, & maintain OC's SAP Disaster Recovery & Batch Job Scheduling environment, including the architect for scheduling software (Redwood and Autosys). Participate in the network, database, and security areas as they relate to the SAP application software environment.

Sustain core competency levels within the SAP Basis technologies. Keep up to date on new and emerging developments in IT solutions, gain an understanding of these technologies, and identify opportunities to integrate new or existing technologies with the current environment to address OC business opportunities. Seek and attend training as required. Develop training strategies in specialized Basis area(s) and share knowledge with other Basis team members to ensure they are current with SAP evolving technologies. Provide consultation to the IS development teams and/or business units on the beneficial and appropriate application of IS technology to OC's business opportunities.

• Develop the Architecture of Supported Application Systems

• Develop the Architecture of new Application Systems

• Participate in the design requirement for data transfer between Supported Application Instances and other external systems (e.g. EDI, DLS, etc.)

• Provide technical advice and consultation to the Applications Development Teams as may be required.

• Develop the process for implementing the Supported Application Systems

Generic Managerial Skills:

Take accountability for quality assurance and consistent use of standard processes for the purposes of implementing, upgrading, or retiring production SAP information systems. Manage the transition of projects from development to ongoing operations through communication, documentation, and adherence to project management principles. Represent IS leadership when interacting with business units on business and technology integration initiatives.
